Private Tutoring

Students benefit from the personal one on one interaction with an Acorns 2 Oaks tutor, whether they are struggling with a particular subject or simply need to learn how to apply concepts consistently and accurately.

More about Private Tutoring...

We have found that private tutoring works well if your student is struggling to keep up or if they grasp course work quickly and need to be challenged.

Some students simply work better and experience less embarrassment, when working one on one with a private tutor. The tutor can give them time to work through problems at their own pace, rather than trying to keep up with the pace of a group session.

Private tutoring can allow children with attention deficits to avoid the over stimulation of a crowded classroom. Removing distractions and providing an individual work area with minimal noise that can be very difficult for some students to cope with. Some students thrive with private tutoring throughout their schooling while others gradually move on to group sessions.

Group Tutoring

At Acorns 2 Oaks you have the option of choosing group tutoring classes. Many parents like this option because it gives the student the opportunity to be in a regular class-like setting with students on or close to their level.

More about Group Tutoring...

Students can make friends and assist each other in class work and problem solving, bouncing ideas off of one another. Working in a group allows students to learn from one another, ask each other and the tutor questions, and demonstrate to the whole group how they solved the problem. Students benefit by listening to the questions asked by their peers, and the response of the tutor.

Group tutoring offers a higher level of energy which makes the learning experience more enjoyable and beneficial. For those families on a budget, group tutoring spreads the costs of a tutor across several students making it more affordable than private tutoring.
